First Test: 2011 Lexus CT 200h

The 2011 Lexus CT200h ranks 1 out of 10 Upscale Small Cars. Starting at $ 29.120, the 2011 Lexus CT200h comes into the lineup as Lexus' entry-level models. While the Lexus CT200h may not be the sportiest compact luxury car available, it is the most fuel-efficient. The front-wheel-drive 2011 Audi A3 TDI diesel gets 42 mpg on the highway, though just 30 mpg in the city.

Audi A3 TDI combined mileage of 34 mpg pales in comparison to the Lexus CT 200h's combined 42 mpg rating. The Lexus manages 14.3 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats - 5.2 cubic feet less than the Audi A3. Do so, and you Probably will not match the CT 200h's quarter-mile time of 17.6 seconds at 78.1 mph.

The 2011 Lexus CT 200h is an all-new model.
The CT 200h hatchback is related to the Lexus 250h HS and shares its powertrain with the Toyota Prius. The CT also has an adjustable drive modes, and once you get it in Sport mode, throttle and steering settings are modified for quicker response to driver inputs. This combination of high fuel economy but slow acceleration means the CT is an unusual choice in the premium compact segment. The only model That comes close to matching the CT's fuel economy is the diesel-powered Audi A3.
