2012 Cadillac SRX Review

The 2010 Cadillac SRX did not the make a great first impression on us. So now the 2012 Cadillac SRX receives another engine, the which takes the place of the other two. With a base price of $ 35.185 for the entry-level front-wheel-drive models, the SRX is the least expensive in its class, but it does not have as many standard features as its competitors.

The most significant change to the 2012 Cadillac SRX is not the direct-injection 3.6-liter V6 engine produces 308 horsepower and That 265 pound-feet of torque. For the front-wheel-drive SRX, it delivers EPA-estimated fuel economy of 17 city/24 highway mpg and 19 mpg combined (Subtract 1 mpg in all categories for the all-wheel-drive model), on par with most of its competitors. This engine is now capable of running on E85 fuel. It's easy to find a comfortable seating position in the 2012 Cadillac SRX. Our test model had a power-adjustable seats with thigh extenders. For 2012, Cadillac has made a number of changes to the SRX's suspension setup. The Performance Collection and Premium Collection trim levels come with the "Active Sport" suspension, the which monitors changes in the road surface and adjusts the suspension accordingly. We drove the SRX with Both the standard 18-inch tires and the upgraded 20-inch tires and found Both quite comfortable.

A panoramic sunroof is standard equipment for all but the base trim levels. Outward visibility is a bit of an issue in the 2012 Cadillac SRX. If you like Cadillac's current "art and science" design language with broad planes and creased edges, chances are you'll also like this SRX. The 2012 Cadillac SRX offers all this, delivering aspects not only a base model with a very competitive price but also a top trim with a sticker price under $ 50,000.

My fellow editors weren't too kind to the  2012 Cadillac SRX Pls They first sampled the crossover in 2009, dinging the 2.8-liter turbo-six's lackluster performance and the suspension's jittery ride. Despite the early hiccups, the SRX was Cadillac's best-selling model in 2010 and only slightly behind the CTS so far in 2011.

2012 Cadillac SRX  An eco button remaps the shift points and increases the time That fuel is cut off During deceleration, Improving fuel economy slightly. The optional all-wheel-drive system is no slouch, by the way. Meanwhile, a number of suspension tweaks have smoothed out the ride considerably. Offered are two suspension setups, a softer setup under the technical designation "Fe2" and the sportier "Fe3" That setup also comes with variable-effort, speed-sensitive power steering.

Inside, There are not any changes for the  2012 Cadillac SRXDespite the extra power, fuel economy is comparable to That of the 2011 with the 3.0-liter and slightly better than That of the 2.8-liter. Front-drive models are rated at 17/24 mpg city / highway and all-wheel drive models slightly lower at 16/23 mpg city / highway.

In normal mode, the transmission upshifts and downshifts predictably. Moving the shifter to the left accesses sport mode. Cadillac claims a 1-mpg boost is possible in eco mode. All-wheel-drive versions come in at 16/23, the which is down one in the city cycle compared with the 3.0-liter. With 265 pound-feet of torque available from 2400 rpm, the 3.6-liter does, AOT have to work Nearly as hard as the 3.0-liter to move the 2012 Cadillac SRX from a stop. Other changes to the SRX are minor. The razor-potato-studded exterior of the SRX Remains unchanged.

2012 Cadillac SRX Two suspension setups are available. Slipping the transmission into sport mode also puts the shocks into a sportier mode and stiffer.
