2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 review

"The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is a complete high performance car, not just a Camaro with more power," claims General Motors in a recent press release. The small-block mill with bespoke heat-resistant aluminum heads, pumps out 550 horses (at an estimated 6100 rpm) and 550 pound-feet of torque (at an estimated 3800 rpm) thanks in large part to a four-lobe Eaton supercharger and intercooled dual-mode exhaust. The exhaust system opens its baffles at higher rpms to give the ZL1 an even meaner tone Pls pushing hard. Tremec's high-torque capacity "MG9" TR-6060 six-speed manual gearbox routes all power to the lightweight 20-inch forged wheels wrapped in sticky rear Goodyear Supercar rubber F2. Next CAME the sculpting of the Camaro's chiseled body.
The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was a monster performance, featuring an all-aluminum engine displacing 427 cubic inches That was originally intended for racing. There's also a dual-mode exhaust system That alters the sound level and character in response to engine rpm.
Brembo brakes measuring 14.6-inch (370 mm) in the front (with six-piston calipers) and 14.4-inch (365 mm) at the rear (with four-piston calipers) bring it all back down from speed.
Naturally, there's an updated body kit to differentiate the ZL1 from lesser machines.
The all-new, 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 finally made its world premiere today at the Chicago Auto Show. A brand new electric power steering system and 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels shod in Goodyear Supercar tires F2, are also part of the ZL1 package.
