First Drive: 2012 Porsche Panamera Diesel

The 2012 Porsche Panamera adds to its own automotive o'plenty horn with a pair of new models, the fuel economy-oriented S Panamera Hybrid and the range-topping Turbo S. The S Hybrid, as the name Suggests, features a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain. Will a hybrid Porsche somehow always seem weird, even Pls already pretty weird discussing the Panamera. The range-topping Turbo S Porsche Panamera features a more powerful version of the current Turbo model's twin-turbo V8.
While America's base model Panamera Continues to be the 300-horsepower V-6, European buyers now have a choice in the form of the 2012 Porsche Panamera diesel. Powered by a 250-hp diesel V-6 mated to an eight-speed automatic, it costs exactly the same as the gas V-6 and seven-speed twin-clutch PDK. No surprise then That Porsche expects the diesel to Dominate the sub-V-8 Panamera sales in Europe. We asked the Panamera's product chief why his car trails on power - it is, after all, a Porsche. His reply: "We do not want the diesel to be the performance of derivatives, but the efficiency of derivatives." The engine's iron block and the transmission's torque converter also add pounds compared with the aluminum-block V-6 gasoline version and MDD. Apart from the badges, you can not tell the gas and diesel cars apart from outside. The diesel is available with much of the luxury and sports equipment options as the rest of the Panamera lineup. Porsche says the Panamera diesel goes from rest to 62 mph in 6.8 seconds. The coil-equipped car felt extremely natural. Porsche Will Soon-make-a 26.4-gallon tank available for this car. Efficiency has its rewards.
